In the 2022-23 school year, 52.5% of Connecticut’s public school students were non-white. But only 11.2% of Connecticut’s teachers were people of color.
Connecticut is not building a diverse educator workforce at a fast enough pace to meet student needs.
It will take systems-change to make meaningful difference.
