Derailment 3. Connecticut lacks a transparent data and accountability system regarding the teaching workforce.

The state and policymakers lack actionable data regarding the distribution of educators across the state. Connecticut needs a data and accountability system to assess the impact of policy action and track the teaching workforce—from early preparation to certification and employment history.

With this data, it would also be easier to identify the quality of an educator preparation program in Connecticut by monitoring outcomes and holding programs accountable for the classroom
readiness of the teachers they produce.
